Priority Points

The Mountaineer Athletic Club Priority Point System was established to honor the loyalty, longevity, and generosity of our supporters—while streamlining the process. This system offers a fair, transparent approach to determining season ticket and parking selections, as well as the allocation of tickets for high-demand events.

How Priority Points Work

Priority points are earned through contributions and season ticket purchases in support of WVU Athletics. Points from each category are combined to determine your total priority point balance and overall rank. Your rank reflects your standing among all active Mountaineer Athletic Club members. Please refer to the chart below for the current priority point calculation details.

  • 1 POINT per $100 for giving to Athletics
  • 1 POINT per $1,000 for giving to the University
  • 1 POINT per $5,000 documented planned gifts towards Athletics in the Jerry West Society
  • 1.5 POINTS per $100 for philanthropic Athletics giving (outside of seat contributions)
  • 1.5 POINTS per $100 for Summit Society members at the $25,000-$249,999 commitment levels
  • 2 POINTS per $100 for Summit Society members at the $250,000 commitment level or more
  • 5 POINTS per year for consecutive years of giving
  • 5 POINTS per year for consecutive years of season ticket purchases

Frequently Asked Questions

How is loyalty rewarded using the priority point system?
The Mountaineer Athletic Club priority point system was implemented to reward loyalty for all season ticket holders and Mountaineer Athletic Club members. Because priority points accumulate over a lifetime of giving; loyalty and consecutive years of giving will play a role in your priority ranking.

Can I lose priority points?
The priority point system rewards loyalty for consecutive years of giving, or purchasing season tickets. Priority points reset to zero if a donor fails to renew their membership or purchase season tickets in consecutive years. To keep your priority points active, simply maintain a $100 Mountaineer Athletic Club membership annually.

Can my priority points be transferred to someone else?
No. Priority points and lifetime giving can not be transferred, unless to a spouse.  No other immediate family members, friends, or businesses will qualify for a transfer of priority points or lifetime giving.
