Current season ticket holders will need to complete the 2013 Football Season Ticket Transfer Form (.pdf file). Forms for the season ticket transfer will be accepted until May 15, 2013 (postmarked), with notification of transfer status provided to both parties on or before August 1, 2013. All forms need to completed in full and mailed to MAC, P.O. Box 877, Morgantown, WV 26507.

Please review the following information to transfer your season football tickets.

Transfer Requirements
All current football season ticket holders, with an account in their name, may transfer tickets to a new or existing account. A minimum of two (2) and a maximum of ten (10) tickets may be transferred into a new account. If transferring to an existing account, the total number of tickets in the existing account may not exceed ten (10) total season tickets following the transfer.

One-Time Transfer Fee, Minimum Per-Seat Donation and Season Ticket Payment
All seats transferred must be accompanied by the one-time, per-seat transfer fee as well as the minimum per-seat donation associated with each priority location (Blue, Red, Gold and Orange Zones). Season tickets must also be paid in full prior to the May 15 deadline to complete the transfer. The cost of season tickets for 2013 are $365 per ticket.

The transfer fees associated with a successful seat transfer and per-seat gifts will be 80% tax deductible as described in IRS code, section 170(I) and receipted by the WVU Foundation. Unfortunately, the seat transfer fee may not be pledged or made in installments and may not substitute for the Transferee’s annual MAC gift for any transferred tickets, parking or other MAC benefits. Gifts associated with unsuccessful seat transfer applications will be refunded.

Per-Seat Transfer Fees

Blue Zone - $500 per ticket transferred
Red Zone - $425 per ticket transferred
Gold Zone - $250 per ticket transferred
Orange Zone - $125 per ticket transferred
Green Zone - $75 per ticket transferred

Important Note - Transfer fees will be waived for new, 2013 members of the MAC, who join at the Director level ($3,500 annually) or higher. Certain restrictions may apply.

All seats transferred must be accompanied by the per-seat transfer fee as well as the minimum per-seat gift association with each seat (Blue, Red, Gold, and Orange). Tickets transferred in the Green Zone will require only the transfer fee.

Minimum Annual Per-Seat Gift

Blue Zone - $500 per ticket
Red Zone - $425 per ticket
Gold Zone - $250 per ticket
Orange Zone - $125 per ticket
Green Zone – minimum per-seat annual gift is not required

The minimum per-seat gift is required for all seats, regardless of whether the original ticket holder had the same obligation. New season ticket holders in the Green Zone are not required to make an annual gift, although they are encouraged to do so.

Approval Process
The transfer of football season tickets is at the sole discretion of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. All seat transfer forms will be reviewed to ensure that the request meets all necessary conditions. Both the transferor and transferee will be notified whether the request has been granted, or denied, on or before August 1, 2013.

To Complete the Process
Current season ticket holders will need to complete the 2013 Football Season Ticket Transfer Form (.pdf file). Season ticket holders may also request a Season Ticket Transfer form by contacting the MAC office at 1-800-433-2072 or via email at MAC@mail.wvu.edu

All new account information, including address, phone number and email, are part of the approval process and must be included on the transfer form. To prevent the unauthorized transfer of season tickets, both the current and new/existing account holders must sign the form and include a copy of each person’s valid driver’s license or state issued identification and submit it to the MAC office for approval. Employees of WVU and its affiliates transferring season tickets must also include a copy of their University-issued identification.

All season ticket transfer applications should be mailed to the Mountaineer Athletic Club. To prevent the unauthorized transfer of season tickets, fax or phone transfer applications will not be accepted. All transfer applications should be mailed to Season Ticket Transfer, Mountaineer Athletic Club, P.O. Box 0877, Morgantown, WV 26507.

Once approved, permanent changes will be made in the MAC and Mountaineer Ticket Office record systems, and both parties will be notified of the successful transfer. At that point, the process is complete.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

A minimum of two (2) and a maximum of ten (10) Touchdown Terrace tickets may be transferred into a new account. 2-3 tickets - $3,500
4-5 tickets - $6,500
6-7 tickets - $10,000
8+ tickets - $15,000

If transferring tickets into an existing account, the total number of tickets in the account may not exceed ten (10) total tickets following the transfer. Existing season ticket holders who do not make an annual fund gift to the MAC and want to transfer additional tickets into their account, must make an annual donation based on the total number of tickets in their account from the chart above.

Existing season ticket holders who make an annual fund donation and wish to transfer additional tickets into their account, must either make the same annual fund gift as the previous year or an annual fund gift based on total number of tickets in their account from the chart above, whichever is higher.

To transfer tickets in the Touchdown Terrace please use the 2013 Touchdown Terrace Season Ticket Transfer Form (.pdf file).

Specially-Priced Season Tickets
Season ticket holders with specially-priced season tickets are permitted to transfer tickets; however, the transferee will be required to pay the full per-seat donation associated with each ticket, the full-ticket price, and required transfer fee.

Important Note
Please remember that dropping below your previous year’s annual giving level, agreed upon gift and/or the minimum per-seat gift required for each priority ticket location (Blue, Red, Gold, Orange Zones), could affect your football season ticket locations, respective parking and other Mountaineer Athletic Club benefits. Please refer to the MAC Benefits Chart for a complete list of available benefits.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. If I do not have an existing account, what will be required if a family member wants to transfer two (2) Orange Zone tickets to me?
After completing the necessary information on the Season Ticket Transfer Application, your total required payment to be submitted would be $1,315. The breakdown of payment is as follows:

$250 – One-time seat transfer fee - Two (2) Orange Zone x $125 per ticket

$250 – Minimum per-seat donation - Two (2) Orange Zone x $125 per ticket

$730 – Season ticket price - Two (2) season tickets x $365 per ticket + $25 order fee

$1,230 total

2. May I transfer my tickets into an existing account?
Yes, tickets may be transferred into an existing account; however, the transferee’s account cannot contain more than ten (10) season tickets prior to the transfer and cannot exceed ten (10) total season tickets following the transfer.

Example 1: Donor A wants to transfer ten (10) season tickets to Donor B (transferee). Donor B already has four (4) season tickets in his existing account. So Donor B does not exceed the maximum number of ten (10) season tickets permitted in an existing account, the maximum number of season tickets Donor B would be allowed to transfer/accept from Donor A is six (6) season tickets.

Example 2: Donor A wants to transfer two (2) season tickets to Donor B (transferee). Donor B already has four (4) season tickets in her account. Donor B would be allowed to accept the two (2) tickets from Donor A as it gives her six (6) total season tickets, and does not exceed the ticket transfer limit or account limit of ten (10) season tickets.

3. How many people may I transfer tickets to?
There is no limit to the number of people season tickets can be transferred to.

4. Who pays the seat transfer fee?
That is entirely up to the parties completing the transfer. Normally, the person receiving the tickets and/or establishing the new account makes the Seat Transfer payment. No transfers are complete until the appropriate transfer fees, per-seat gift and ticket payment are received and written confirmation is provided by the Mountaineer Athletic Club.

5. What if my 2013 annual fund/season ticket priority gift is more than the minimum per-seat gift for tickets? Do I still need to pay the minimum per-seat gift for tickets transferred into my account?
No. If your annual gift is more than the total required per-seat gifts for all transferred season tickets and existing season tickets in your account, you will not be required to make an additional per-seat gift. Only the seat transfer fee would be required.

Example 1: Donor A wants to transfer two (2) Gold Zone season tickets into his account. Donor A already has two (2) season tickets located in the Red Zone and makes an annual gift of $6,500. Donor A would only be required to pay the $500 transfer fee for the two (2) tickets in the Gold Zone.

Example 2: Donor B wants to transfer four (4) Red Zone season tickets into her account. Donor B already has four (4) season tickets in the Gold Zone and makes and annual gift of $2,000. Since the total required per-seat donation for four (4) Red Zone and four (4) Gold Zone season tickets is $2,700, Donor B would be required to make an additional gift of $700 plus a transfer fee of $1,700. Donor B would need to purchase the four additional season tickets.

6. If a family member transfers her tickets to me, do I retain their ticket purchase history?
No. A current season ticket holder’s purchase history is not eligible for transfer. Once tickets are transferred, the transferee either begins their own account or has tickets added to their existing account. The transferor retains his/her account information.

7. Why do I need to pay a transfer fee?
Ticket transfers are not part of our normal operating procedure. This is the third time in the history of the WVU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics that we have conducted an open period for season ticket transfers and the transfer fee helps us absorb the additional costs associated with the process. Ticket transfers will also create a group of new donors and season ticket holders who will receive significantly better tickets than they otherwise would have been entitled to. The transfer fee helps justify the reassignment of ticketing to brand new donors and season ticket holders, and helps us recoup lost opportunity gifts.

8. How will the transfer fee be used?
The costs associated with tuition, travel, medical care and insurance, facility maintenance, construction and other costs continue to escalate and are beyond the fiscal control of the athletic department. These areas will directly benefit from the additional financial support generated from transfer fees.

9. What if I want to transfer more than ten (10) season tickets into my existing account?
A gift above the minimum per-seat donation may be required for season ticket holders who want to transfer more than ten (10) season tickets into a new or existing account. Additional transfer fees may be applicable. Please contact the Mountaineer Athletic Club for more information.

10. Is it possible to transfer AFTER I relocate some or all of my season tickets?
No. The transfer option precedes any relocation requests. You would be able to request a ticket upgrade beginning in the 2014 season.

11. If I pay the transfer fee, per-seat gift and purchase season tickets in 2013, what will I need to pay in 2014 and beyond?
Beginning in 2014 and beyond, you will only be required to pay the appropriate per-seat gift and season ticket price. If you gave an additional donation and received further benefits from the MAC, including parking, you would need to donate at the appropriate annual giving level to maintain those benefits.

12. Will the opportunity to transfer season tickets be available in 2014?
The transfer option is a limited opportunity, so it must be carefully considered and acted upon before the deadline of May 15, 2013.

13. May I transfer my season basketball tickets?
No. The limited-time seat transfer is only available for football season tickets.

15. How many transfer applications do I need to fill out if I want to transfer tickets to five (5) of my friends?
A ticket transfer applications must be completed for each person you are transferring tickets to. In this instance, five (5) separate transfer applications must be submitted. All new account information, including address, phone number and email, are part of the approval process and must be included on each transfer form. To prevent the unauthorized transfer of season tickets, both the current and new/existing account holders must sign the form and include a copy of each person’s valid driver’s license or state issued identification and submit it to the MAC office for approval.

16. Am I required to transfer my season football tickets?
No. Season ticket transfers are completely optional and at the sole discretion of the season ticket account holder.

17. What can I do if the person I purchase tickets through will not transfer them to me?
Season ticket transfers are at the sole discretion of the season ticket account holder. Please contact the Mountaineer Athletic Club if you would like to create your own account, purchase season tickets in your name and make a gift. All tickets are based on availability.
